Little Stangs
BLHS is proud of our updated Birth to Preschool program which offers childcare and learning in preparation for kindergarten. The Little Stangs Learning Center in Buffalo Lake is a modern facility that supplies families with daycare and learning opportunities from 7:00 am to 5:30 pm.
Our Birth to Preschool program is designed to provide children with a safe and nurturing environment where they can learn and grow. Our experienced teachers are dedicated to helping children develop essential skills such as communication, problem-solving, and socialization. Through engaging activities and play-based learning, our goal is for children in our program will be well-prepared for the transition to kindergarten.

March 24, 2026 Update
At Little Stangs Learning Center, we value the strong relationships children build with their teachers and classmates. Our classrooms remain focused on learning, routine, and positive interactions each day.
Classroom Highlights
This past week brought a variety of engaging activities across classrooms:
- The infant room has been enjoying spring-themed sensory activities and getting outside for fresh air when weather allows.
- The toddler room continues to build daily routines and social skills through play and group activities.
- Our preschool classroom is preparing to begin a garden project this week.

Spring Weather
Temperatures can vary throughout the day. Outdoor play will continue as weather allows.
Please send:
- A labeled coat or jacket
- Hat and mittens for cooler mornings
- Layers for changing temperatures
- Extra clothes that are seasonally appropriate
Upcoming Closure
Please remember that Little Stangs Learning Center will be closed on Friday, April 3 for the holiday weekend. We will be open regular hours on Thursday, April 2 and Monday, April 6.

Preschool
PALS Preschool/School Readiness
Preschool is for all children between the ages of 3, 4 and 5 years old by September 1st and who are fully toilet trained. Classes are 7 hours per day and meet 1 to 3 days/week depending on their age. PALS Preschool/School Readiness classes are based on the educational standards presented by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). The PALS learning environment is created to foster development in all areas, in fun, exciting and accepting ways! Children learn through play in a teacher AND child lead program.
