Superintendent - Logan Swann

This is my 4th year at BLHS, and it has been an incredible journey so far. I was previously the 6-12 principal at BLHS. Prior to that, I was the dean of students, a special education teacher, and a baseball coach at Redwood Valley. One of my proudest accomplishments at BLHS has been implementing positive behavior-based approaches in our district, which include monthly challenges that we can celebrate together, as well as developing an academic support system that supports all students. I firmly believe that "the grass is greener where you water it," and that philosophy drives my commitment to fostering a positive learning environment for our students. As Superintendent, my goals are to build a culture of continuous improvement, develop procedures for fiscal transparency and responsibility, focus on our facility needs, and develop a strategic plan that creates a clear path of success for BLHS. In my spare time, I enjoy spending quality moments with my wife, our two dogs, and friends. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at BLHS; the students, staff, and families have been so supportive and a true joy to work with. I look forward to making BLHS the best place for students to attend school—a safe, supportive environment with a strong focus on student growth.

PreK-5 Principal - Jesse Westbrock

Hello BLHS Communities and Families,

I am excited for my second year at BLHS, though my role is changing to PK-5 Principal and Director of Teaching & Learning. I am looking forward to continuing to work with our staff to continuously improve our school so every student has access to a high quality education that will provide them the skills to be successful on whatever path life leads them down. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my wife and three children. I look forward to another great year at BLHS!

6-12 Principal & Activities Director - Kevin Elton

Hello BLHS Community and Families,

I am excited to join BLHS as the 6-12 Principal and Activities Director. This will be my 19th year in education where I have primarily served as a 7-12 math teacher and coach (football, basketball), and have additional experience in technology, assessment, and administration.  Throughout my career, I have served in large and small schools, and have learned that I truly value the small school environment as it allows a more personal approach to guiding students.

I live in Hutchinson with my wife and two children.  My wife is an elementary teacher and both my kids attend school with her.
