My name is Craig Albers and it is my privilege to be starting my second year as the BLHS Assistant Principal and Activities Director. I grew up and went to school in Garretson, South Dakota, a small town which is about the same size as Hector!  I am entering my 28th year in education, receiving my Bachelor’s Degree from Dakota State University and my Master’s Degree and administrative licensure from St. Mary’s University of Minnesota.  I also have over 25 years of coaching experience as an assistant and head coach in football, basketball and track & field.  I am excited to continue my work in this dual position and look forward to working with the administration team to make this a great year.

As the Assistant Principal, I encourage each student to reach their fullest potential and be successful, however each individual determines what success looks like to them.  I work extremely hard to ensure a quality education is provided through effective, research- and evidence-based pedagogy strategies in a safe and supportive learning environment.  As the Activities Director, I hope to increase involvement in our education-based, extra- and co-curricular activities and athletics in order for students to develop many high quality, employable soft skills and become well-rounded individuals.
