Research Process

The research process is one that you will engage in for all of your classes so a separate section is being devoted just to that.

The Research Process: The research process can seem pretty complex. The research project calculator not only explains the steps involved and leads you through each one, but can also help you create a timeline for getting each piece of your project done. This is a great resource for parents and teachers too. Check it out! Research Project Calculator

Check out Purdue's Online Writing Lab for information on the writing process in general and research papers in particular.

Looking for current trends and attitudes in America? According to its website, the Pew Research Center is "a nonpartisan 'fact tank' that provides information on the issues, attitudes and trends shaping America and the world. It does not take positions on policy issues." Its polls and surveys are frequently cited in magazines and newspapers.

Need to find an idea for a for-and-against type issue? Take a look at this website: IDEA: International Debate Education Association.

Creating Citations:  One way to create entries for your bibliography page is to have a web application do it for you. Make sure that you know which citation format you are supposed to use, and then check out these Web sites.
