Job Description:

The Director is a critical asset of the organization and serves in budgetary and fiscal planning capacities as well as creation and implementation of policies and procedures.  Additional capacities include, but are not limited to, insuring key components of a positive community culture, seeking to further the mission of the organization, and providing support for other professionals and families within the organization. 

Essential Functions: 

•    Engages with current and prospective parents and family members and is responsive to their needs

•    Serves in a mentor capacity with staff in a variety of aspects including, but not limited to, lesson planning, instructional support, and training

•    Works with the teachers to ensure implementation of daily lesson plans and curriculum

•    Ensure the learning environment is representative of the program’s philosophy by maintaining organization and cleanliness in shared spaces

•    Oversees fulfillment of documentation and facility requirements as detailed in Minnesota Rule 9503 and Minnesota Statute 245

•    Executes and maintains the program’s participation in Parent Aware

•    Cooperatively engages in personnel decisions such as, but not limited to, the hiring and disciplinary process

•    Works with the school board and administration to establish procedures and policies for fiscal management and responsibility

•    Works with the Business Manager to establish an annual operating budget and prepare fiscal reports to inform budgetary decisions

•    Oversees general operations of all aspects of the facility including, but not limited to insuring the center is always neat, clean, organized and maintained 


•    Bachelor of Science Degree in Early Childhood Education, Family Life Sciences, or a related field

•    5 years experience as a teacher in an Early Childhood setting

•    2 years experience of fiscal management responsibilities

•    CPR and First Aid Certification within 30 days of hire

•    SIDS and Abusive Head Trauma certification required prior to initial contact with children

•    Excellent organizational skills

•    Ability to be flexible in assignment and work hours required

•    Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl for extended periods of time

•    Ability to lift and/or move 50 pounds

•    Ability to complete and pass pre-employment screenings
